stopped for lunch at this family restaurant in Montville.
A small hamlet just off exit 47, tucked away from the beaten path of
Interstate 287.
Like many local places they are very popular with folks in the

Opened in 1907 by twins Art & Archie Pitkin. Pitkin's has been
in continuous operation as a friendly family place to eat in the
Adirondack village of Schroon Lake.
John & Gisile Wilson purchased Pitkin's in 1955 and choose to keep
the name and tradition growing.
In 1975 their daughter Marie and her husband Randy became the
current owners. Enter the Texas influence of Randy and the
Texas Style Barbecue.
Open year round Pitkin's is known for homemade soups, deserts and of
course the Texas BBQ.
